Lovely 18th century dish with a Meissen style decoration of Peter the Great of Russia. In the front There is a woman holding a baby. (Possibly) depecting the undercover trip of Peter Peter the Great to the Netherlands. Really cool and detailed pieces. Pictures in natural light have been added. Trip of Peter the Great Peter had met the Zaandam blacksmith and craftsman Gerrit Kist when Kist had worked for the tsar in Moscow. Upon visiting the Zaanstreek, Peter insisted on staying with Kist in his home, despite Kist’s protests that his house was a mere hovel, shared with the widow of one of his workers.
