Pair of Chinese Period Celadon Famille Rose Quail Qianlong Plates. This pair of antique Chinese Celadon porcelain plates. Both plates feature a pair of quails perched on the ground and in a tree amongst branches and flowers in a garden scene. They both have an under-glaze blue seal script mark showing the dynasty and emperor’s period, or possibly Republic period Qianlong homage pieces? They each have a brown oxidized rim. The brown dressing on the lip of the rim indicates they are characteristic of the QianLONG period. The pair is in very good condition with no damage, no chips with possible minimal wear to the outer narrow hand enameled branches. It’s very little, and could be the way they’re painted. You be the judge through the photos. Each plate measures 8 in diameter. We do not guarantee the age of any piece we sell, we are not experts on Chinese items and can only describe the items to the best of our ability. Ultimately the photos we take serve as our description. These plates were from an estate of a world traveler and collector where the home was full of beautiful antique, high end objects. It by no way guarantees these are original period plates, but provides a bit of a provenance.
