PLEASE SCROLL DOWN FOR PHOTOS. This is a Chinese export porcelain large mug or tankard with hand painted decoration of Chinese mandarin figures. The painting shows a man giving a woman a’piggyback’ – that is the English term for giving somebody a’ride’ on your back. They are having a good time and 3 other people are watching in a courtyard. The handle portrays a dragon eating its tail. Very good condition, some slight frits to the rim. Good gilding, some slight paint losses. No hairlines, no restoration. Probably dates from about 1750 or so. See my other Chinese porcelain. Measures 4.25 inches tall and 3.5 inches across (10.7cm by 8.7cm). Get images that make Supersized seem small.
