Pair of Chinese famille rose octagonal deep plates, Qianlong (1736-95), painted with a central scene of birds perching beneath flowering hibiscus and peony amongst ceramic vessels of ancient bronze form, the border with delicate garland of hibiscus flower and lotus. Condition: a few minute frits to rim and one plate with hairline to rim and very small chip.
