Chinese famille-rose scalloped dish, Qianlong (1736-1795)
30cm; condition: one minute frit to rim, very slight rubbing to enamels. For an illustrated example of a similar dish see’Chinese Export Porcelain: Chine de Commande from the Royal Museum of Art and History in Brussels’, (1989-90), p. The shape of the dish is based on a European silver model. The existence of a similarly decorated plate in the Mottahdeh collection suggests that this dish may have been part of a number of dinner services decorated with dancers and musicians. Update Due to current restrictions our access to some of our stock is limited. As members of the British Antique Dealers’ Association (BADA), we are obliged to adhere to their rules of conduct. This means that our cataloguing is of the highest standard.
