This vase was carefully inspected before listing; it is in excellent condition. I have found no damage, or repair. The beauty of this vase is its balance of colorful Famille Rose and elegant Blue-White motif. Each line of drawing reveals its details of craftmanship. Underside of the vase is Qing Qianlong seal. Measures approximately 12″ tall, 9″ between its widest points, 1¼” diameter opening at the top, 3¼” x 4¼ at the base, and with weight of 5 lb. Your understanding is much appreciated. As fragile item, I have carefully packed it that wrapped by bubble sheets and surrounded with packing peanuts or styrofoam in the brand new box. Im Spiegel des Tellers ist eine figürliche Interieur-Szene dargestellt. Vier Chinesen sitzen auf Stühlen an einem Tisch, zwei davon prosten sich mit kleinen Bechern zu. Zwei Diener, ein Kind und ein schwarz weiß gefleckter Hund vervollständigen diese Szenerie. Der Rand des Tellers ist abwechselnd mit Schmetterlingen und Blütenzweigen, darunter Päonien, dekoriert. Four Chinese persons sit on chairs at a table, two of them holding small glasses saying skoal to each other. Two attendants, a child and a black and white spotted dog complete the scene. Chinese famille rose equestrian figure of Wang Zhaojun, Qianlong (1736-95), the lady playing a stringed instrument whilst riding side-saddle upon a piebald horse, all upon a rectangular base, height: 8 1.4in. 21cm; condition: break and small chips restored to a high standard. Provenance: from the collection of Lady Ottoline and Philip Morrell, and thence by descent. Lady Ottoline Violet Anne Morrell (16 June 1873 21 April 1938) was an English aristocrat and society hostess. Wang Zhaojun was one of the four beauties of ancient China. The story goes that Wang Zhaojun left her hometown to enter the harem of Emperor Yuan. Feeling sad during her journey whilst travelling on horseback she began to play sorrowful tunes on a stringed instrument. A flock of geese flying above heard the music and seeing the beautiful young woman riding the horse forgot to flap their wings and fell to the ground.
