Pair of Chinese famille rose octagonal plates, Qianlong (1736-95), painted with a central scene of birds perching beneath flowering hibiscus and peony amongst ceramic vessels of ancient bronze form, the border with delicate garland of hibiscus flower and lotus. Diameter: 21.5cm 8 7/16in. Condition: one with 1 flake and 1 chip to rim, 2 flakes to underside of rim, the other with 1 flake and nibbling to the rimplate.
