OLD CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE PORCELAIN BRUSH POT QIANLONG MARKED WITH PEACH (534). Very fine Chinese Famille Rose. Marked on the bottom. It will be a very nice collection. Famille-rose porcelain is also called Fencai or Ruancai (meaning’soft colors’), and later as Yangcai (meaning’foreign colors’), one of the Jingdezhen kiln of the four traditional porcelains, the treasures of Chinese traditional porcelain craft with pastel porcelain varieties as main decorative techniques. It is a kind of glaze (painted in the porcelain body) by low-temperature sintering method. It was introduced during the reign of the Kangxi Emperor, possibly around 1720. It used mainly pink or purple and remained popular throughout the 18th and the 19th centuries. By the time of the reign of Yongzheng in the Qing dynasty, these shades were favored over the translucent famille verte (five-colored ware) overglaze colors that were previously used. Famille rose porcelain reached a climax of perfection at. Jingdezhen, and continued with great delicacy through the Qianlong period. In good condition, with no damage or restoration. CHINESE’GARLIC HEAD’ DRAGON & PHOENIX VASE. A finely crafted Chinese suantouping (garlic-head) polychrome famille rose enameled vase with underglaze blue doucai design. Marked with the blue six character Qianlong reign mark but stylistically dates from the Guangxu period (as most apocryphal Qianlong marked pieces). Gold enameled rim ring & detailing. Very fine craquelure on the base ring enamels as well as an iridescence to the green glazes on the piece indicating some age. Dimensions : 9″ H x 4.5″ Dia (middle). Decorated with two oval-shaped panels depicting a scholar and boy in garden scenes. The narrow ends with low relief foo lion head handles and scrolling foliate designs in underglaze blue with gilt accents. The cover with multi-color floral designs and gilt knob finial. Underside of cover, interior of the pot and foot are covered in turquoise enamel. The inner rim of the cover and mouth rim of pot with a small notch to accept a tiny spoon (not included). Chinese Famille Rose porcelain fish bowl, Qianlong mark. Magnificent fish bowl, on a matching black wooden stand, with a lot of hand-painted decorations. Highly embellished and decorated Famille Rose fish b owl. Emperor Palace with Emperor Family and nobility. Ceremonial greeting in Emperor Palace of Emperor Family and nobility. Between two compositions, with two birds, butterflies and flowers. Depicts 5 golden fish, swimming between sea grasses. The two gold fish are usually shown head to head and represent fertility as fish produce many offspring. They are one of the Eight Auspicious Symbols of Buddhism. The Chinese words for goldfish are identical with the two words meaning “Gold and Abundance” therefore many Chinese keep goldfish at their homes or in ponds in temple gardens. Fish in Chinese sounds like the word for “Abundance and Affluence” so the fish symbolizes wealth. Fish shown with a lotus blossom symbolize “Year after Year may you live in Affluence”. 14.5 inches = 36.2 cm. 9.6 inches = 24 cm. Height: 12.8 inches = 32 cm. Height of the bowl on the stand: 20 inches = 50 cm. = 8.1 kg. Although, there are some details, which support the old age. We cannot guarantee the age of Qianlong Emperor. A red six characters, hand-painted with thin brush (lines have different intensity) say that this vase was produced during the rule of Qianlong. Light colors (white, pink, yellow) have a lot of natural crackles. Generally the colors are somewhat dull, which reflects the influence of the age.
