FINE OLD CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE PORCELAIN VASE QIANLONG MARKED 37CM (656). Very fine Chinese Famille Rose vase, Painted with. Marked on the bottom. It will be a very nice collection. Famille-rose porcelain is also called Fencai or Ruancai (meaning’soft colors’), and later as Yangcai (meaning’foreign colors’), one of the Jingdezhen kiln of the four traditional porcelains, the treasures of Chinese traditional porcelain craft with pastel porcelain varieties as main decorative techniques. It is a kind of glaze (painted in the porcelain body) by low-temperature sintering method. It was introduced during the reign of the Kangxi Emperor, possibly around 1720. It used mainly pink or purple and remained popular throughout the 18th and the 19th centuries. By the time of the reign of Yongzheng in the Qing dynasty, these shades were favored over the translucent famille verte (five-colored ware) overglaze colors that were previously used.
