Chinese famille rose basket and stand, Qianlong (1736-95), of oval form with spreading perforated sides and foliate rim the interior well decorated with floral sprays within an interlinked chain the rim with a floral hatched cellular border, the exterior with moulded floral motif, with twin looped upright gilded handles; the stand similarly decorated with perforated sides, the rims gilded; diameter of stand: 10 1/4 in. ; height of basket: 3 3/4 in. This type of dish is well-known as “Shi Jin”, used to display an assortment of food in the palace and became a popular item among the royal families. It has superb craftsmanship and delicateness. Size: 5 7/8 in. Condition: Item is in good condition as shown in pictures except for two hairlines at the rim. It has the usual wear and scratches that are expected to occur over the years. Decorated with floral cavetto and a diaper pattern banded around. Sprays of flowers scatter the rim. Size: 8 3/4 in. Condition: One item is in good condition as shown in pictures with the exception of 3 chips at rim. The other has several cracks and chips at the flat side of the rim.
