Antique Chinese Famille Rose Milk Jug & Lid, Qing Dynasty Qianlong Period Vgc

This antique, 18th century, Chinese Export porcelain cream jug, is in very good condition. Being over 200 years old, from the Chien Lung period in China, it is remarkably fresh and unblemished. It still has its original lid, which appears in very good condition. On closer inspection, I believe there might have been a tiny chip which has been repaired. But it is very difficult to spot. Its handle is also good and without repairs or cracks. The cream jug is made in the classic melon shape with what is known as a sparrow beak. The delightful and classical pattern of sprigs of rose, pink flowers, known as Famille Rose pattern, and the vivid puce and pink diaper border, always make an appealing jug. This is why the West loved importing this precious ware. It measures 5 ½” high (14cm), including the lid and finial, and from the belly of the jug to the handle, it measures 4 ¼” inches wide (10.5cm). The diameter of the jug is 1 ¾ (4.5cm).

Antique Qianlong Chinese Teapot Famille Verte Handpainted Qing

Featured here is a gorgeous antique Chinese handpainted teapot. In a rudimentary effort to translate the characters on the underside, we believe they are these characters: meaning something like “made in a dry and prosperous year”, but this mark is more commonly associated with the Qianlong period, made in the mid to late 1700’s of the Qing dynasty. In good condition for its age, but does have a chip on the spout, gold fade, roughness on the lid, and spots of wear. See pictures for closer detail.
