For your consideration is an outstanding antique Chinese Tea Caddy. Fine white porcelain with enameled ornamentation, gilt accents. Very high quality hand painted Mandarin porcelain. Decorated throughout in a Famille Rose color palette. Domestic interior scenes in either medallion: two women and a child reaching for a vase at one side; two men, a kid and a rooster on the other. Birds and flowers cartouches, mountain landscapes and patterned backgrounds are separating both scenes. Extremely fine brush work, great attention to the detail. I have found no damage, or repair. Bugutu is a kind of miscellaneous paintings. In the Northern Song Dynasty, the Great Emperor Huizong of the Song Dynasty compiled and edited the ancient artifacts of Xuanhe Temple, and completed 30 volumes of Xuanhe Bugutu. Later generation will draw pictures of ancient artifacts such as porcelain, copper, jade, and stone, called Bugutu, sometimes decorated with flowers and fruits. Bugutu has meaning of Bogutong and advocating elegance, and is often used in the decoration of the residence of the scholarly family or the bureaucrats, which also makes it a good position in the field of art investment. Under side of the vase is Qing Qianlong reign seal. Measures approximately 9¾” tall, 6¾” between its widest points, 1¼” diameter opening at the top, 2½” x 3½ at the base, and with weight of 3 lb. Qianlong Chinese Porcelain Vase Famille Verte bats Antique Qing 18th C

Standard

An antique Chinese porcelain vase enamelled in the Famille Verte palette with two large reserved stylised lotus petal shaped cartouches decorated with a hollow rock, peony flowers, bamboo and butterflies. All on a ground of formal lotus and clematis floral spray scrolls. The sides are decorated with with bats and the stylised symbol (shòu) with a meaning for Longevity. The shoulder has a green and blue diaper border between four floral cartouches. The long slightly flaring neck with a raised central ribbed band is decorated with reserved floral cartouches also on a ground of formal lotus and clematis sprays. This beautiful vase was made during the reign of the Emperor Qianlong in the Qing dynasty in the 18th Century circa 1750. The base has a blank double ring mark in underglaze blue. The vase in soft or pastel colours (Ruancai) is in excellent antique condition, it has some wear to the gilding, there are no chips, cracks nor restoration. This is a most attractive item to add to any collection of antique 18th century Chinese porcelain or simply as a statement piece in any interior. Height 12 3/8 inches (31.4 cm) Diameter 4 3/4 inches (12 cm) Weight 0.97 Kg unpacked.
