Chinese famille rose circular soup tureen and cover, Qianlong (1736-95), decorated with branches of peony and chrysanthemum, with a spearhead band around the rim and moulded boars-head handles, the cover with sprays of flowers and fruits, with moulded and pierced coronet finial and spearhead band around the rim, diameter of tureen: 7 7/8in. Condition: chips to mask of one handle, minor wear, flake to inner footrim. VTG Antique Chinese Famille Rose Medallion Birds Tureen Qing Qianlong Mark

Standard

Gorgeous Chinese Famille Rose Medallion Soup Tureen that has the Porcelain Mark paying homage to. Decorated in Gold and Traditional “Reds”, Berry colored Roses and Birds on top of creamy white porcelain. Vintage from the 1950’s. The mark is mid 20th century Porcelain mark that says “Great Qing Qianlong Period Make” a reference to the lengthy Qing Dynasty (1644 to 1912). This mark and tureen pay homage to the great era in which Emperor Qianlong reigned from 1736 to1795. The Tureen was made for home. I can not say it is safe for food use. Measurements are 11.75 inches from tip of handle to tip of handle. 7.5 inches wide and 5 inches tall. This is a rare piece to find with this mark. Please view the pictures for specifics and details.
